When Love Gives Up Its rights - South

In 1 Corinthians 8:1–11:1, Paul challenges us to see that being right isn’t the same as being mature. Christian maturity isn’t measured by how many freedoms we can exercise, but by our willingness to surrender our rights for the good of others and the glory of God. Love looks beyond personal preferences, freedom gives us the ability to say no to what we want now for the sake of what matters most, and maturity means choosing what is helpful over what is merely permissible. We’re not trying to figure out how close to the line we can live—we’re trying to become more like Jesus.
