EASTER AT RISE

Stop Before You Break

Our culture treats busyness like an accomplishment, but that pace is often what drains us spiritually. In Genesis, God doesn’t just command rest—He models it. ‘Shabbat’ means to stop and delight. God wasn’t exhausted on the seventh day; He was enjoying His creation. Today we live in chronic fatigue, and if we don’t choose Sabbath, burnout will force it on us. Even studies show Sabbath-keeping communities live longer, gaining back the time they set aside to rest. Sabbath is built into creation and fulfilled in Jesus, who invites us into His finished work instead of endless striving. The message is simple: work with purpose, rest with intention. A full soul sees clearly; an empty one reaches for anything.
