EASTER AT RISE

The Cost of Discipleship

In this powerful message, we're challenged to examine what it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. The central theme revolves around Luke 14:25-33, where Jesus speaks about the cost of discipleship. This isn't just about believing in Jesus, but about fully surrendering our lives to Him. We're asked to consider: Do we want to be His disciples? The message emphasizes that discipleship goes beyond mere belief - it's about partnering with Jesus daily, finding our true purpose, and being empowered by God Himself. However, this comes at a great cost. Just as those who carried crosses in Jesus' time were fully committed to their fate, we too must be willing to 'carry our cross' - surrendering completely, conforming continually to Christ's ways, accepting amplified attention from others, and understanding that this is a lifelong, enduring commitment. This teaching challenges us to move beyond surface-level faith and truly count the cost of following Jesus in every aspect of our lives.
